Speaking to the Daily Star Sunday, the 48-year-old was full of praise for her spouse and the support he gives her, saying: “I’ve got a very strong husband who is very sensible and not like me in any way.

“He cuts through all the bull***t and keeps me sane.”

One of the things Chris helps Amanda keep a good perspective on is social media and the trolls that come with it.

She continued: “I’m so lucky that when I started out, social media wasn’t invented because I might not have got through it.

“Everything I have gone through since then has been massively public.

“It’s difficult but I am very lucky because I’ve got a very strong relationship.

Amanda and Chris married in December 2008 at Babington House in Somerset and have daughters Alexa, 14 and Hollie, eight.

Over the years Amanda has come under fire for her risque outfits during the Britain’s Got Talent live shows.

But proving she has a thick skin, Amanda said: “Nothing matters as long as you are happy and healthy and relatively stable.”

Earlier this week, Amanda stunned her fans by revealing she had appeared in BBC soap EastEnders back in the 1990s.

She told Jamie Theakston on their Heart FM breakfast show: “When I left drama school, EastEnders was one of the first jobs I got. I had to look after someone’s stall for half an hour which was like four episodes or something.”
