Despite Amanda’s concerns, the chat is believed to have left Lauren “deeply unhappy”.

Speaking to the Mail Online, a friend revealed: “Lauren is fiercely protective of Simon and is deeply unhappy with Amanda, who was more than a little loose-lipped.

“It is going to make for an interesting conversation should the two women ever find themselves alone in a room together.”

Last week, Amanda revealed she feared her BGT co-star was going to die following his horror accident.

She said: “I honestly panicked it could be fatal. It was gut-wrenching. I got a text in the night. I couldn’t sleep after.

“I felt physically sick as I didn’t know how bad it was. I didn’t know what was going on.

“I wanted him to be alive, but I also wanted him to be able to walk as he’s such a good friend.”

At the time, Amanda revealed she was in touch with his girlfriend Lauren as the music mogul doesn’t have a phone.

She added: “I sent him some Lego, some cashmere socks, the Charlie Mackesy The Boy The Mole and The Fox books and some butterscotch Angel Delight which is his favourite.

“So hopefully he’s being fed that through a drip somewhere!

“Gorgeous Lauren is keeping his spirits up. She’s been doing the round-the-clock care. She’s been cooking him turkey shepherd pies – I’ve no idea what these are called, I think officially it’s a Gobbler’s pie?!

“And I know one of our producers spoke to him earlier this week and says he sounds amazing, really well.”

Simon narrowly avoided being paralysed after breaking his back in a horror bicycle accident.

The 60-year-old star suffered numerous fractures with one just a centimetre from his spinal cord.

The judge has since had rods inserted in his back and an ITV source said: “He will not return to the panel in time for the final. He’s obviously a massive loss but we are happy with the very talented judging panel.”
