ANT and Dec said goodbye to their fans today – insisting they were taking a break from social media.

But they just couldn’t keep away, returning to post about Declan Donnelly’s five-year wedding anniversary with Ali Astall hours later.

Ant and Dec announced they would be taking a break from social media

The lads, both 44, had posted a picture of them reading holiday brochures with the words: “See you in four weeks.”

They explained they would be “taking a break for a few weeks to spend time with family and friends”.

And Ant McPartlin was even seen at at London’s Heathrow Airport with girlfriend Anne-Marie Corbett and her daughters.

But the account they share sprung back to life just after 6.39pm, tweeting: “PS. Thanks for all the anniversary wishes for me and Mrs D. 5 years today.”

One fan laughed: “Ha ha! I knew you wouldn’t be able to stay off Twitter Donnelly! Your phone is never out of your hand!”

Another was astonished the five-year milestone had come round to fast writing: “5 years !!! Blimey that’s gone quick. Congratulations!!! Have a lovely day.”

Dec and long-term girlfriend Ali Astall married at St Michael’s Church in Newcastle on 1 August 2015.

The couple exchanged vows in front of ITV pals Holly Willoughby, Phillip Schofield, and – it goes without saying – Ant McPartlin.
