ANT and Dec pulled a hilarious prank on Amanda Holden after pretending to be the judge’s runner.

In an unseen clip from Britain’s Got Talent, the presenting duo request some bananas be sent to the star‘s desk.

Ant explained: “It’s a walkie talkie that goes directly from the judge’s runner and if we ask for anything, it gets delivered to the desk.”

Pretending to be Amanda on the walkie talkie, he then said: “Can I get some bananas sent to Amanda please?”

Amanda was then baffled when a bunch of bananas were delivered to the judges’ desk, asking: “Have I got these for a reason?”

A member of the BGT team is then seen approaching the mum of two to remove the bananas.

The confused star exclaims: “Well, I don’t know why I have got them!”

The pre-recorded shows of the hit competition have continued to air, while the coronavirus pandemic has forced production to postpone the live shows.

But Amanda, 49, confirmed the live shows will return later this year.

She said she was told by production to keep “early autumn” free for filming.

Only pre-recorded episodes are currently being shown

However, the broadcaster insisted that she, production nor her fellow judges Alesha Dixon, David Walliams and Simon Cowell would ever do series without a studio audience.

Speaking to HuffPost UK, she said: “All of the main judges have been given a date to hold in early autumn to see if it works live.

“But we would never do it without an audience because we’ve always said the British public is the fifth judge.

“So we can’t do it without them – it would be no fun without them! We’ll see what happens, but we are planning to do it this year.”

The Heart Breakfast praised fellow judge Simon, 60, about getting the current series on-air amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, despite the live shows being delayed.

She continued: “Simon has fought very hard for it to be on now, in its normal slot, and it celebrates Britain at its best.

“All our eccentricities, our nuttiness, and being able to laugh at ourselves is how we get through everything – we’ve got to still find the light in the dark.”
