The coronavirus pandemic has forced the semi finals of BGT to be held virtually – and minus a live studio crowd.

It will be BGT’s first show without a live studio audience due to the coronavirus pandemic

The judging panel will be spaced two metres apart to adhere to social distancing rules

Yet those at home could be seen beaming back at them from their computer webcams, after signing up to be in the virtual audience.

These run on selected dates from August 28 to September 6 and an exciting BGT statement on the Applause Store website told fans of the new-look BGT: “There is an incredible new studio set and YOU can part of it by joining us remotely from your very own home!

“All you have to do is select a date and make a request right now to participate in the VIRTUAL audience, and if your application is successful, we will send you an exclusive, unique ApplauseStore invitation that will allow you to watch the show, support your favourite acts, join all the judges and Ant & Dec live!”

Making sure safety comes first, it added: “We are accepting groups of up to six people per device which must consist of people from the same household and/or with other people, only if formed from a support bubble with the household.

A virtual crowd will have exclusive access to the presenters and judges tonight

“There is no minimum age limit, but if you are under 18, you must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. This is going to be the most fantastic opportunity for a REAL CELEBRATION and we want it to be a real PARTY!!!”

The judging panel will tonight be spread two metres apart to adhere to social distancing regulations.

All of the Golden Buzzer acts in the semi-final have now been revealed, with David Walliams pressing his buzzer for choir Sign Along With Us, Ant and Dec choosing Jon Courtenay and Simon Cowell’s choice of Faith Ifil.

Additionally Amanda Holden opted for Honey and Sammy and Alesha’s choice was comedian Nabil Abdulrashid.
