Britain’s Got Talent’s viewers were left in tears tonight as Simon Cowell hit his golden buzzer for 12-year-old singer Fayth Ifel

She said: “They’re really supportive and if I doubt myself my mum and dad just make me feel like I can do this.”

Her mum added: “She’s only young, she’s only 12 but performing on stage has definitely made her grow in confidence over the years.”

Once on stage, Fayth chatted with the judges and Simon asked: “Have you ever had moments when you’ve lost your confidence? I’m just curious.”

Fayth replied: “I have lost my confidence a bit from negative energy from different schools but my mum and my dad help me get through that which is why I’m here today.”

However there was no signs of any shyness or lack of confidence during her performance, as Fayth belted out a striking version of Tina Turner classic Proud Mary, stunning the judges in the process.

After she had finished, David Walliams said: “Fayth just occasionally people come on to the stage and you think ‘they are born to be a superstar’.”

Simon added: “You know what I love about you Fayth, I absolutely love your personality.

“And you talked about the support you had from your mum and dad, then you see the support you’ve had from 3000 people… and just to give you a little bit more support, I’m going to give you one of those.”
