NEW smalls please! It looks like our snap of Summer Monteys-Fullam copying the knickerless Athena Tennis Girl poster yesterday has plenty of celebrity doubles – and some rather mixed doubles at that.
For since the original 1976 snap of player Fiona Butler scratching her bare bum became one of the world’s best-selling posters, it seems plenty of famous faces – and backsides – have had a go at recreating the iconic pose.
From Amanda Holden to, er, Alan Carr, they all seem sure they’ll avoid a bum shot when they serve up this stance.
Katy Docherty asked tennis fan and model Rhian Sugden to cast her eye over these efforts and sort the aces from the disgraces.
The original
THE original Athena poster shows 18-year-old Fiona Butler in tennis gear at Edgbaston, Birmingham in 1976.
The shot was posed for the photographer, Martin Elliott – her boyfriend at the time. The poster has since sold more than two million copies worldwide.

TV chef Paul Hollywood’s 25-year-old ex put on a cheeky display in Kent.
Rhian said: “Summer looks stunning, whatever she wears.
“I suspect she just did it for Instagram but if I had a booty like hers I’d be flashing my peach in public too.”

“This is surprising, as she often flashes flesh on BGT. Great shot though.

Rhian said: “She’s nailed it. With her modelling background she’s got the pose exactly right.
“And it’s clear she’s got an amazingly pert bum.”
Kylie
THIS shot shows why men want to net the pop diva.
The snap of her peachy bum was taken for GQ mag 20 years ago.
Rhian said: “Kylie is known for flashing her bum in super-small hotpants, so it’s no surprise she had a go at this pose. It’s why she’s won Rear Of The Year so many times.”
Maria Sharapova
RUSSIAN Maria went all Athena at Wimbledon in 2011 when her skirt rode up.
Rhian said: “She accidentally recreated the famous shot and it’s effortlessly stunning, and so impressive.
“She hasn’t tried – it’s all natural and that makes it even more beautiful.”
Lizzie Cundy
EX- Page 3 girl Lizzie gave a glimpse of her tennis whites in these shots last month.
Rhian said: “She oozes glamour and I’d expect nothing less from her.
“She always looks fabulous and she has a great toned physique.”
Pat Cash
RETIRED ace Pat bared his bum in 2011 to plug BBC 5 Live’s Wimbledon coverage.
Rhian said: “Pat showed his fans he’s got a great sense of humour.
“He’s got the pose nailed but he doesn’t look as good as the Athena girl by a long shot.”
Alan Carr
COMIC Alan’s Athena moment came in 2006 to promote his show The Friday Night Project.
Rhian said: “Full marks for comedy value. He’s not quite got the pose right, but the dress is
identical to the original. Ten out of ten to the stylist. I can’t fault him!”
