LITTLE Mix took a swipe at old boss Simon Cowell as they sing, “I don’t do what Simon says” in their new record.

The girl group are set to release their new album Confetti on Friday that includes a track called Not A Pop Song.

Little Mix have taken a jab at Simon in their latest song

Ahead of the album’s release, Jesy Nelson, Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall have dropped some major hints they will be taking a swipe at their old boss and his record label Syco.

Now an insider has told Metro.co.uk that the song contains a dig at Simon Cowell.

The site reports the lyrics are: “I don’t do what Simon says. Get the message cuz it’s read. That’s the life it never plays fair.

“Said to follow any dream be a puppet on a string. Works for you but that isn’t me. This ain’t another pop song.”

The band signed on with Simon after winning 2011’s X Factor

A source told the publication: “They think Simon will see the funny side of it – as they know he loves attention and will think it’s all playful.

“It’s about them growing up and becoming women in a way.”

Little Mix have also made it clear the track is set to be a feisty one.

During a Q&A with fans, Jade said about the song: “Concept wise there’s a song on the album that I’m really excited for everyone to hear because it’s kind of something we’ve sung about before, but we go a little more in depth and it’s more about our journey as pop stars and in the industry and how people deem girl bands as a ‘guilty pleasure’.”

This is their first album with their new label

She then added “I’m looking forward to people hearing that one.

Little Mix signed onto Simon’s former label Syco after winning The X Factor in 2011.

However, they left in 2018 and have signed with rival RCA – and Confetti is their first album with the new label.
