The Britain’s Got Talent judge, pictured this year, says he has lost sixty pounds since he started a strict diet regime a year ago

He has cut out red meat and reduced his sugar intake.

In December, he told how he had dropped four waist sizes.

But he has shed even more weight while continuing his healthy regime in lockdown  in Los Angeles.

Simon, 60, said: “I started this diet a year ago and I’ve lost 60 pounds.”

“I’m doing a bit of cooking. I’m exercising. Funny enough, more during this time as well, sticking to the diet.”

The Britain’s Got Talent judge admits his biggest challenge maintaining his healthy ways is his growing envy towards six-year-old son Eric’s eating habits.

He added: “The only difficult thing is when Eric orders a pizza . . . that’s the number one thing I miss.”

Simon decided to act after he injured himself in a fall down stairs at his London home in October 2017. He was taken to hospital in an ambulance.

He blamed his injuries on his unhealthy lifestyle where he “lived like a vampire”, staying awake until 8am every day.

Simon revealed how he has been bonding with Eric during lockdown. They have been camping in his garden with Eric’s mum — Simon’s partner Lauren Silverman, 42.

He said: “We’re camping on the weekends in the garden in tents. Lauren, the first time, at 11 o’clock said, ‘I can’t deal with this’ . . . and I said ‘No, we’re staying outside’.”
