SIMON Cowell shared his terror at young Eric being bullied at school as he revealed what name he almost gave his son in a resurfaced interview.
The 59-year-old Britain’s Got Talent star spoke about his biggest fears for the now-six-year-old mini-me as he grows older.
He told the Mail’s Weekend magazine last year: “Him being bullied is what I dread most.
“There are two things that worry me about him growing up. One is stress. Children are under so much stress – with homework, pressure. I really don’t want that for him.
“The second thing is bullying. It terrifies me. If there’s even a whiff of it… I don’t think I could handle it.”
However, Simon said Eric is loving being at primary school, explaining: “He likes school, which is surprising because I never did. He says he likes learning.
Simon, who is worth an estimated £440 million thanks to his TV production and music empire, also said he would like Eric to take over the business one day.
He said, jokingly: “I’m training him up.”
Viewers of Simon’s TV shows have become accustomed to Eric popping up on the panel.
He previously stole the show on Britain’s Got Talent, telling Amanda Holden in 2018: “I am daddy’s job now.”
He also helped out Simon on The X Factor, taking satsumas from his dad during the Six Chair Challenge and handing them out to the audience.
Eric even manage to upstage his dad on Loose Women when he leapt onto his lap and tried to clip a peg onto his nose – leaving the tycoon yelping with pain.
Simon and his family have spent lockdown in their Miami home, with disaster striking when Eric saw his famous dad fall from an electric scooter and breaking his back this summer.
Simon underwent an extensive operation to fix the injury but was forced to pull out of filming for both America’s and Britain’s Got Talent while he recovers.
