Who is in The Big Night In?
The one-off BBC special will feature some of the biggest and most loved names on British telly.
Those set to host the show include Lenny Henry, Davina McCall, Matt Baker, Paddy McGuinness, Zoe Ball, Ade Adepitan and Greg James.
They are expected to practice social distancing while on hosting duties.
Viewers will also have the chance to win some incredible money-can’t-buy prizes across the course of the evening.
Peter Kay
The show is expected to mark the return of comedy legend Peter Kay.
He is expected to recreate the music video for Tony Christie’s 1971 song (Is This the Way to) Amarillo, which peaked at number one on the charts after the comic appeared in a music video commissioned for charity.
In a Facebook post, he urged fans to film themselves singing along to the classic.
He said: “To be in with a chance of making it into his music video, we’re looking for people to film themselves marching and dancing to the original track.”
Matt Lucas and David Walliams
The Little Britain stars are back for the first time in over 10 years.
Matt Lucas and David Walliams will be performing a new sketch as they bring the much loved BBC show back on TV.
The pair have so far kept the characters they will bring back under wraps.
It has been rumoured the stars are in talks to bring back the popular show on a permanent basis.
Catherine Tate and David Tenant
Is she bothered?
Catherine Tate‘s popular schoolgirl character Lauren is also set for a big return.
Lauren is not coping very well with her remote lessons from her teacher, who is played by former Doctor Who star, David Tennant.
The mix of the two stars has created a buzz and is sure to be comedy gold.
Dawn French
Geraldine is set to return to our screens for one night only as Dawn French reprises her role in The Vicar of Dibley.
The show has not been on our screens since 2007, which was another one-off special.
The vicar will be giving a special lockdown sermon.
The Big Night In
Two of the biggest BBC charities, Children in Need and Comic Relief will team up to present the telethon in order to raise money for people and communities worse hit by the coronavirus pandemic.
The BBC said: “We’ve never been further apart, yet somehow never closer.
“That’s why, for one night only, Comic Relief, BBC Children in Need and BBC One, are coming together for a special night of entertainment, like no other.”
The BBC has said the night will be filled with fun, entertainment and surprises.
Among the biggest treats of the night will be:
- Miranda Hart and the cast of Miranda in self-isolation
- Dave Grohl accompanied by friends with the TV debut of a new BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge version of Times Like These
- Sam Smith singing Lay Me Down
- Celeste performing Lean on Me
- Jack Whitehall in Bad Education alongside Mathew Horne and boxing champion Anthony Joshua
- Virtual EastEnders Queen Vic pub quiz hosted by Ian Beale

- Joe Wicks Exercise Secrets
- People Just Do Nothing
- Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon in the Trip
- Matt Lucas and his Baked Potato song accompanied by the BBC Orchestra

Gary Barlow is also set to perform Sing with friends including Liam Payne, Olly Murs, Leona Lewis, Katherine Jenkins, Nicole Scherzinger, Freya Ridings, Alfie Boe and Gregory Porter.
Jason Manford will be doing stand-up from home, along with Rosie Jones, Tez Ilyas, Dane Baptiste, Russell Kane, The Lost Voice Guy, Nish Kumar and more.
Also making appearances will be Little Mix, Mary Berry and many special guests.
Strictly Come Dancing will also be featured as the BBC launched the Keep Dancing Challenge which saw some of the Strictly stars teach a dance routine.
Viewers are urged to learn and upload a video of themselves performing the routine as the best ones will be featured on the show.
