BRITAIN’S Got Talent’s are mouring the death of one of their own.
Comedian Ian Royce has passed away aged 51.
Who was Ian Royce?
Ian was a 51-year-old comedian who was known for warming up the audience on many popular TV shows.
He is best known for getting the crowd going on Britain’s Got Talent.
However he was also the hype man for America’s Got Talent and Piers Morgan’s Life Stories.
In 2019, Ian bravely admitted that he was battling alcoholism, with a friend creating a GoFundMe page to raise £20,000 for him to check into rehab facility The Priory which saw Ant and Dec, Simon Cowell and Robbie Williams all donating.
How did Ian Royce die?
Ian’s death was announced on September 1, 2020.
It was confirmed he died from severe pneumonia and multiple organ failure.
The star’s family announced the sad news on Ian’s Twitter page writing: “It is with our greatest regret that we have to tell you all that Ian has passed away today from severe pneumonia and multiple organ failure.
“He was in no pain and was surrounded by friends and family. He put up a good fight but is in a better place now.”
What tributes have been made for Ian Royce?
Ant and Dec led tributes for Ian.
The Geordie duo worked with Ian on the ITV series for several years, and called him a “legendary character” in a touching tribute.
Piers Morgan shared a photo of himself and Ian laughing while filming Life Stories together, writing: “RIP Ian ‘Roycey’ Royce. Funniest warm-up man in showbiz and a legend in the TV industry.
BGT judge Amanda Holden tweeted: “So sad to hear the sad news of @officialroycey who was our warm up man and friend on @bgt ..
“Just an absolute tragedy. Mine and my family’s thoughts go out to Roxy his lovely daughter 
”
Good Morning Britain’s Ben Shephard also paid his respects, writing: “Roxanne I’m so so sorry to hear this – I had too many wonderful hilarious times with him, he was one of the best at what he did, a great mate and gave the BEST hugs ever.
