CURTIS Pritchard has declared girlfriend Maura Higgins was robbed of a place in Dancing On Ice in the skate off on Sunday.

Maura, 29, found herself in a gripping elimination round with Paralympian Libby Clegg – and burst into tears when she lost.

Curtis Pritchard has insisted Maura Higgins was robbed in the Dancing On Ice skate off when he chatted to The Sun’s Executive Editor Dan Wootton on talkRadio today

Speaking to The Sun’s Executive Editor Dan Wootton on talkRadio today, Curtis, 23, was asked if he ever felt jealous of Maura working so closely with skating partner Alexander Demetriou.

And the ballroom dancer replied: “I’m from a performing background and you need to have a good connection with your dance partner. I wasn’t worried in anyway.

I just want to say, I thought she did a better skate off. So… she should have been saved.”

His broth AJ agreed, adding: “Even my mum said on that skate off, she did a better dance.”

However, Curtis admitted he saw the bright side of her elimination, adding: “I get to spend more time with her now.”

DOI judge John Barrowman also still believes Maura should be in the competition.

John, 52, voted to save former Love Island star Maura and said he hasn’t changed his opinion, insisting Maura should still be in the competition.

Appearing on Lorraine, the silver-haired judge said: “Ashley and I went for a clean slate based only on the skate-off.

“In that skate-off, Maura was clean and it was the best skate she has ever done.

“I said to her afterwards that if she had skated like that earlier, she might have still been in.

“She was comfortable, she didnt have wobbly legs. It was a beautiful, great skate and I had to save her.”

John added: “It caused controversy…!”

After learning her fate, Maura tearfully told Holly and Phil that she “really did want to stay”.
