LIBBY Clegg MBE has a good chance of winning Dancing On Ice 2020, according to the bookies.

However, the talented Paralympian, who has four Paralympic medals under her belt, missed tonight’s show after falling ill.

Dancing On Ice has been hit by a vomiting bug, which has forced Paralympic runner Libby Clegg to pull out.

Bosses are now worried that others might fall ill as a source told theMirror: Libby fell ill early in the week and hasn’t been able to skate.

Now Mauras sick and it could be the same thing. Shes trying to get herself back to full fitness in time for the show but it hangs in the balance.

Fortunately, Maura recovered in time for tonight’s show – however, Libby is still under the weather.

An ITV spokesperson confirmed Libbys absence, saying: Unfortunately Libby will not be able to skate on this Sundays show. We all wish her a speedy recovery and hope to see her back on the ice next week.

Holly Willoughby confirmed on tonight’s show that Libby is expected to return on Sunday January 12.

Who is Libby Clegg?

Libby Clegg is a Scottish Paralympic sprinter who was born on March 24, 1990 in Stockport.

She has a deteriorating condition in her eyes called Stargardt’s Macular Dystrophy.

Libby only has relative peripheral vision in her left eye and is registered as blind.

The talented athlete has represented both Scotland and Great Britain throughout her career.

She is best known for being a part of Team GB at the 2008 Summer Paralympics where she won the silver medal for the T12 100 metre race – a feat she repeated at London 2012.

She went on to win two golds in Rio at the 2016 Paralympic Games, one in the 100m T11 and a second in T11 200m.

It was there that she broke the world record for the 200 metres.

Among her many accolades, in 2017 Libby was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the New Year Honours list for her services to athletics and charity.

No, Libby is not married but she has been engaged to fianc Dan Powell since 2017.

In October 2018 the couple announced they were expecting their first child.

The ITV show teased a glimpse of the 29-year-old on their social media pages, but fans were unable to correctly identify the Scottish sprinter.

In the sneak peek, Libby held up her MBE and has her glittering engagement ring on display.

A few days later Libby took to her social media to confirm she was taking part, writing:

“Well, its finally been announced! Ill be swapping my sprint spikes for ice skates in the coming months!

“Hopefully skating my way to success on the ice rink too
“Incredibly exciting opportunity which I cant wait to embrace!”

Libby is competing in the ITV reality show alongside 11 other celebrities – Radzi Chinyanganya, Maura Higgins, Kevin Kilbane, Lucrezia Millarini, H from Steps, Lisa George, Perri Kiely, Caprice, Joe Swash, Ben Hanlin and Trisha Goddard.
