DECLAN Donnelly apologised to Andi Peters after mocking him in an I’m a Celebrity skit.
The ITV reality show returned tonight, with Ant McPartlin back by Dec’s side after a year off.
The Geordie duo were on fine form, cracking jokes as soon as the show started and Dec soon took aim at fellow presenter Andi, 49.
After the first VT showed five of the celebrities meeting on a luxury yacht including Good Morning Britain host Kate Garraway, Dec said: “I was thinking, isn’t it nice to see a daytime TV presenter standing on a luxury yacht without hearing the words ‘you and a friend could win 50,000 for life’”
As he spoke he did a big twirl and pointed his finger to the camera.
Ant replied: “Good Andi Peters impression” to which Dec deadpanned: “Who?”
As they continued their link, Dec said again: “But will those five celebrities be a) confident b) excited or c) absolutely sweating.
“Remember you and a friend could win 50,000 a year for life!”
But in the ad break, Andi took to Twitter to tell the duo their facts were inaccurate.
He wrote: “I think youll find its 100k, in time for Christmas! @antanddec @itv @imacelebrity #ImACeleb #youvegottobeinittowinit.”
Dec replied: “I stand corrected! Soz Andi! D x”.
Meanwhile, Ant, 43, left viewers in stitches as he joked about his year off.
Declan presented alongside Holly Willoughby last year, with the This Morning favourite filling in for Ant after he took a career hiatus in the fallout from his drink driving conviction.
As well as Im a Celeb, Ant also dropped out of Saturday Night Takeaway, leaving Dec to present solo.
At the start of the beloved reality show, Dec made a point of welcoming back his best bud, excitedly gushing: “I’m back – and he’s back!”
Meanwhile Ant poked fun at Dec for introducing the wrong celebrity during the intro videos, quipping: “I’ve had a year off, what’s your excuse?!
