I’M A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! bosses are bracing themselves for more security headaches, locals living near the castle say.

Residents close to the base where the ITV show is being filmed have said that people are travelling from all over the UK to get a glimpse of the programme’s base.

And gangs of teenagers are attempting to get “five minutes of fame” by uploading successful “raids’ on the Castle on social media.

One local told HOAR: “We are glad to have the show here but it’s causing a fair few headaches. There are literally hundreds and hundreds of people popping into what is a very small place to try and see the Castle.”

Another said: “It’s well known around here that many kids and teenagers are also grouping up, heading up to the Castle and seeing if they breach security.

“ITV is doing a great job and it’s like Fort Knox. But they are bracing themselves for more daring attempts before the end of the series. I bumped into one of the camera-men earlier this week and said ‘I don’t suppose you have this problem in the Jungle’ and he just laughed.”

Reports this week revealed how a determined intruder bypassed elaborate security measures to get on the set of I’m A Celebrity.

The breach risked bursting the production’s strict Covid bubble – raising the very real prospect that the entire ITV show would have been forced to shut down.

The unarmed man was grabbed by guards “just yards” from campmates and hosts Ant and Dec at Gwrych Castle, North Wales.

A source said: “The intruder had tried to break in earlier in the run but didn’t manage it.

“Everyone is on high alert as the safety of the cast, care and everyone involved is obviously the number one priority.

“It was a close call but the quick-thinking security staff realised there had been a breach due to various pieces of kit they have set up. He was thrown off site immediately.

“They hope it’s the last of this sort of incident and everyone can focus on the show.”

ITV added: “A security breach was identified and an intruder was removed from the location with immediate effect.

“The safety of both our celebrities and our production crew remains our primary concern.”
