Richard Madeley falling ill; Storm Arwen causing havoc; castle security breaches; and Ant and Dec digging at Boris Johnson made for a dramatic 2021 series.

But fans were left reaching for the tissues when they got to see a montage of winner Danny, 30, and footballer David‘s best bits.

One person wrote on Twitter: “the best bromance ever; loved all of the campmates talking about the bromance between danny and david”

Another gushed: “Danny and David’s bromance was so wholesome 🥺🥺🥺🥺

And one more said: “Get yourself a man the way Danny looks at David”

Speaking following his victory, Danny joked he’d tried to “get his leg over” when he and David had shared a bed.

Danny told the Daily Star: “He was a childhood hero of mine was David Ginola and I was trying to get a leg over him all week.

“I finally got the opportunity to sleep in the same bed with him and he wasn’t having any of it.

“He was a bit stiff to be honest. I was trying to get my leg over and give him a little cuddle but he was having none of it.

“There was a spoon that wanted to become a fork and he lost it.”

Elsewhere tonight, viewers of I’m A Celebrity’s Legends Of The Castle were heartbroken after Richard Madeley made a shock admission.

The Good Morning Britain presenter could be heard discussing the reason why the public had chosen him to take part in the gruelling Bushtucker Trials.

Richard, 65, was forced out of the ITV reality show after just four days when he suffered a health scare and was rushed to hospital.

Having broken the Covid bubble created for the series, the journalist was told he could not go back into Gwrych Castle to join his co-stars.

Despite his short time on air, Richard still had an opportunity to get stuck in with the Bushtucker Trials, as he was voted in by the public watching from home.

And in Legends Of The Castle, the star could be heard mulling over the reasons why he was voted in for the first trials.

Viewers were left heartbroken as Richard speculated with his fellow celebs that it could be because those watching at home “because they hated him”.

“Have I been picked because people hate me?” he could be heard asking as he looked back over his days in the ITV competition.

Fans immediately flooded Twitter to show their support for Richard, and gush over how they wished he had “more time” before he was forced to leave.

“I still feel quite sorry for Richard. He was barely in it,” one viewer responded.

“It’s a shame Richard didn’t stay longer, it would of been good to see him more,” a second chimed in, as a third agreed: “I’m sad he had to leave early.”
