I’M A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! viewers are convinced Simon Gregson will spark a harsh punishment after he sneaked salt into camp.

The Coronation Street star, 47, smuggled the contraband into Gwrych Castle to improve his and his fellow celebrities’ meals.

The Corrie star used the banned items to spice up dinner for camp

But on Thursday night, Simon was seen spicing up a pan of veg with salt before sprinkling pepper on sausages – in full view of the cameras.

Fans of the ITV1 show are now predicting that the camp could be surprised with a cruel twist as a result of his rule-breaking.

Taking to Twitter, one said: “#ImACeleb So they are gonna get in trouble now for smuggling salt in!”

Another added: “The producers knowing they can ruin their lives for a few days now because of some salt and pepper #ImACeleb.”

A third even suggested: “Just to stir things up they should let them do the trial then tell them it’s void because simon brought in salt, so the punishment is no food.”

VERY NAUGHTY BOY

Simon isn’t the first 2021 I’m A Celebrity campmate to sneak cooking ingredients into the Welsh castle in a bid to spice up their rice and beans.

Within hours of arriving, music producer Naughty Boy confessed to show bosses that he had brought in a sock full of seasoning.

He said: “Before I left, I grinded some spices that could make rice and beans actually taste a bit nice, so what I did, I put it in my sock.

“There’s cumin seeds, cloves, turmeric, coriander seeds.  If you could smell this. Wow.  And black peppercorns.”

Incredibly, Naughty Boy asked if he could use his homemade seasoning to make his bland dinner taste better.

He was then forced to hand his contraband, which he’d wrapped in cling film, over.

Richard Madeley was impressed, however. He told him: “That was really good of you to think of us. It is a real mark of your character, actually.”

Remarkably, Naughty Boy’s honestly appeared to help him escape punishment.

But others have suffered for similar tactics in the past.

CAMPMATES RUMBLED

In 2019, Caitlyn Jenner and Ian Wright lost their campmates an entire meal over a smuggled corn on the cob and piece of roast chicken.

Caitlyn sneaked the food back to Ian after he was forced to miss out on a slap-up roast dinner following a Bushtucker Trial.

“It’s a little disappointing that it went from ten stars to nine stars because of smuggling,” Caitlyn later admitted.

Ian said: “If I knew they were going to punish us I’d have eaten it out in the open.”

Meanwhile, in 2010, Gillian McKeith managed to enter the jungle with a huge haul of cooking ingredients to spice up rice and beans.

But she was rumbled when fellow contestant Stacey Solomon asked for some “special stuff” to go in her lunch.

Show bosses spotted the Scottish telly star rummaging around in her bag and demanded to see the contents.

Incredibly, Gillian was found to have five pouches Japanese miso soup powder, eight stock cubes and assorted bags of cumin, celery and garlic, rock salt and herbs.

She was then stripped of her jungle privileges as a result of her bad behaviour.
