ADELE Roberts has broken her silence on the voting scandal that may have seen her eliminated from I’m A Celebrity early.
Hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly announced that online votes wouldn’t count in Friday’s eviction after fans were asked to pick who they wanted to leave – not stay.
Phone voters, as usual, were asked who they wanted to keep and many insisted 59-year-old ex-EastEnder Cliff would have gone instead if Adele’s young fanbase’s app votes had been counted.
Now, the radio DJ has admitted she has “made her peace” with the decision.
She said: “Maybe it counted against me but I kinda feel whatever will be will be.
“I have made peace with that and all I wanted to do was make sure I stayed for the 14 days and I said last night if I got to stay it was a bonus.”
The radio DJ admitted the app error may have counted against her
She added: “I am happy with what I achieved.
“I feel like I have graduated from jungle university. I could have gone anyway if the app had been working.”
The 40-year-old DJ appeared unbothered by her elimination on Friday, becoming the first celebrity to exit the jungle.
She later backed Nadine Coyle to be crowned the Queen of the Jungle.
‘I am happy with what I achieved,’ said Adele
Some fans felt Cliff would have been voted out if all votes were counted
Speaking to hosts Ant and Dec after her elimination, Adele explained: “I am just amazed that I lasted that long.
“I am glad that I lasted without saying ‘I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here’, I felt like I was going to say it many times.”
On leaving first, she added: “I feel like at least I’m first at something, I’ll take it, it’s fine.
“I went in the jungle to challenge myself and not be scared of things. I thought: ‘Give it a go and see what happens.’”
She added: “Without a doubt, I’m stronger than I realised and there’s so many things I can do it’s just the way that you view things.”
The star joked: “I won’t be scared of a spider in the bath now.”
