I’M A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here’s Caitlyn Jenner revealed she barricaded herself behind six-foot walls during her transition.
The 70-year-old star was so terrified of being papped that she built an extra layer of security around her home until she publicly came out as transgender.
The former Olympic athlete opened up during a chat with her fellow campmates in tonight’s episode of the ITV show.
In a candid discussion about “fake news” with Jacqueline Jossa and Nadine Coyle, Caitlyn said that she erected the huge walls around her Malibu mansion, explaining: “This was before I came out because I couldn’t go out of the front door to my pool because I thought someone would get a picture.
“The day Vanity Fair came out, the wall came down.”
Caitlyn famously revealed her new identity on the June 2015 cover of the glossy magazine.
Yesterday, Cait revealed that she hadn’t spoken to former step-daughter Khloe Kardashian since she transitioned – adding that the mother-of-one had been “p***ed off”.
She told the campers: “I went through every kid and Khloe for some reason was p***ed off about something through this whole process, its been five or six years and I really havent talked to her since.”
Appearing saddened by the soured relationship, the TV favourite added: “We were really close, I raised her since she was five years old, I really dont know what her issues are.”
Caitlyn married Khloe’s mum Kris Jenner in 1991, acting as step-parent to her, Kim, Kourtney, and Rob Kardashian for over 20 years.
Caitlyn and Kris split in 2014, one year before she publicly came out as transgender, and Khloe has always been open about their difficult relationship since.
Keeping Up With The Kardashian fans turned on Caitlyn for suggesting that it was because of her transition that Khloe had stopped talking to her, pointing out that the tension actually developed over Caitlyn’s treatment of Kris and her tell-all book where she “publicly shamed” the family.
Caitlyn shared some more details about her famous daughters in tonight’s I’m A Celeb, particularly billionaire Kylie Jenner.
She admitted that she calls her kids when she reads something in the news about them that she doesn’t think is true, detailing: “Kylie posted something about how she didnt like Snapchat as much as she used to and how she was thinking of going over to this other one and the stock of the (Snapchat) company went down one and a half billion dollars.
“I called her up as it was all over the news.”
Jacqueline was particularly impressed by her fellow contestant’s anecdotes, sharing: “I have read stuff about Caitlyn Jenner but having lived with her for two weeks its been such an eye opener, such an experience and its made me view her and her family as pretty normal.”
