The 27-year-old is now being investigated by police.

However he took to Instagram a day after the fight to praise his “soul mate” and share his memories of an “amazing night”.

“What an achievement, being able to turn such a negative part of your life into a positive, which has helped educate us all on modern society,” he shared.

“This will always be one of the most powerful documentaries we will witness in our lifetime, embracing this generation and how hard the struggles can be, as a human growing up, and equally as parents.”

He added: “The reality is, Jess already has saved lives, and will continue to help others in similar struggles from the selflessness of this film.

“If everything was perfect, youd never learn, and youd never grow. You dont go through life, you grow through life and Im lucky I get to stand alongside you to witness you grow.

“Were all special to someone, and I know shes special when the days dont seem right without her. An amazing night, with my best friend and soul mate. Well done Jess, keep shining always.”

Chris had been at the annual ceremony supporting the Little Mix singer who bagged the award for Best Factual Programme, at the star-studded ceremony.

However, the celebrations soon took a turn for the worst after he was spotted in an altercation with a photographer outside of the O2 arena in London in the early hours of Wednesday.

The Mirror reports that Chris started rowing with the snapper over claims he’d called him a “c***”.

He later apologised for “distracting” from Jesy’s win on her big night.

“I want to address last nights altercation,” he said on Instagram stories.

Chris later addressed the altercation

He shared: “I was having an amazing night celebrating the award my girlfriend deservedly won. After coming out of our hotel a particular paparazzi decided to repeatedly call me a name I wouldn’t call my worst enemy, and physically try and start an altercation.

“As everyone can see I retaliated back badly to this which I totally regret. I’m human.

“No different to anyone else. However I want to make everyone aware this was only in self defence.

“I hope people I care about including my followers, family and friends can understand and forgive me.

“This night was about Jesy’s win and I am sorry if I distracted anyone from this.

“Ultimately, I’m the proudest boyfriend ever and want to congratulate my amazing girlfreind for a deserving win. I am so proud of you.”
