Things took a turn for the worst following the ceremony

It follows his explosive row with Olivia in 2018 when he got angry about the amount of time Olivia spent with him.

At the time, Olivia said: “Chris was upset that he didn’t see much of me in the evening but I was chatting to new people and taking in the night.

“So when he saw me he started shouting, I was quite embarrassed as people got out their phones to film it!

“His management managed to stop him from shouting so it was blown out of proportion really. I don’t think he is a good drinker!! I did remind him today that he does shout in public and I did say that he needs to not do that.

“He was like I really dont think I did and I was like Ok you did and that was when the article came out so I was like, believe me now?.”

It appears history repeated itself when Chris lost his temper last night – but he claims he got physical in self-defence.

And he said sorry for “distracting” from Jesy’s win on her big night.

“I want to address last nights altercation,” he said on Instagram stories.

“I was having an amazing night celebrating the award my girlfriend deservedly won.

Chris took to Instagram this morning to apologise for his actions

“After coming out of our hotel a particular paparazzi decided to repeatedly call me a name I wouldn’t call my worst enemy, and physically try and start an altercation.

“As everyone can see I retaliated back badly to this which I totally regret. I’m human.

“No different to anyone else.

“However I want to make everyone aware this was only in self defence.

“I hope people I care about including my followers, family and friends can understand and forgive me.

“This night was about Jesy’s win and I am sorry if I distracted anyone from this.

“Ultimately, I’m the proudest boyfriend ever and want to congratulate my amazing girlfreind for a deserving win. I am so proud of you.”
