DANCING On Ice’s Maura Higgins insists her boyfriend Curtis Pritchard isn’t worried about the “connection” with her dance partner – and that they won’t be struck by the “curse”.

Maura is partnered with Alexander Demetriou and has opened up about the connection the pair have formed since their training began.

However, the Love Island star insists it won’t affect her relationship with Curtis – who she met on the ITV2 dating show – as they are both from “the same industry”.

Speaking on Loose Women on Thursday, the 29-year-old said: “We spend every single day together, we have to get on.”

She then added: “I don’t think [Curtis] worries. Im lucky because Curtis is from the dancing world so he knows you need to have a connection.”

Curtis is a professional dancer and even appears on Ireland’s version of Strictly Come Dancing, Dancing With the Stars.

The star also opened up about their busy schedules interfering with their love life, saying: “I think the both of us support one and other. We dont see each other as much as wed hope. Were busy but because we are in the same industry we understand each other.”

Maura was pictured on a rare date night with Curtis earlier in the week.

They enjoyed a bite to eat at Five Guys in Covent Garden, before heading to the Aldeplphi theatre to watch a performance of The Waitress.

Maura has said she wanted a strict partner for Dancing On Ice, so they can keep her temper tantrums in check.

“I need someone strict to keep me in line, ” she shared. “Otherwise Ill just throw a strop and lay on the floor.”

“[Headbangers] frighten me a lot. Im more excited than scared, though. I’m brave and competitive so I think that will drive me.”

Maura is competing on the show alongside Lisa George, H from Steps, Caprice, Kevin Kilbane, Joe Swash, Perri Kiely, Liby Clegg MBE, Ben Hanlin and Trisha Goddard.
