Dr Alex George admits he’s “scared” after seeing fake social media accounts giving out “medical advice” using his picture.

The Love Island star – who is battling coronavirus on the frontline as an A&E doctor – begged fans to report scammers who are pretending to be him online.

He’s been a leading figure in the NHS as he spreads awareness of COVID-19.

But he was shocked to discover there were fraudsters online using his photos to gain more followers.

Sharing an example of one of the culprits, the 29-year-old warned: “Please keep an eye and report any fake accounts.

“It scares me to think these people could be giving ‘medical advice’.”

The account goes by the name Clinton Christopher, but uses Dr Alex’s pictures. There have been four posts so far.

Dr Alex returned to work in A&E after his 2018 reality TV stint and has been educating fans on the pandemic.

This week he vowed to never stop fighting coronavirus in an inspiring snap from the NHS frontline.

Taking to his Instagram page this evening, Alex shared a photo of himself in full PPE – including a face mask, shield, goggles, and gloves.

He has a stethoscope around his neck, and one fist defiantly pumped in the air as he prepares for another day of battle against the deadly disease.

He captioned the post: “No matter how many times this virus beats us down, we will stand up and we will fight back”.

Alex has been left emotionally drained by his gruelling shifts, admitting in an interview last week that he has experienced several coronavirus-related deaths in his London hospital.

Appearing on Sky News, he shared: “We had quite a few patients who were really quite unwell from coronavirus.

“Unfortunately, a few deaths as well which is always tough.”

Today, Britain’s coronavirus death toll has risen to 4,974 today after 621 more people died.
