DITZY Dean Gaffney has called reality romance shows “fake” — just weeks after he starred on Celebs Go Dating.

The former EastEnders actor, 42, praised his twin daughters Chloe and Charlotte for turning down an offer from Love Island.

Dean Gaffney said on Celebs Go Dating that he wanted ‘that butterfly feeling’

He said contestants on those shows are more interested in boosting social media followers than finding romance.

His comments came after his stint on E4’s Celebs Go Dating when he said: “I want that butterfly feeling, I want to be in love.”

However, less than a month later, he lashed out at similar shows at London’s TRIC Awards — where he was invited as a star of Celebs Go Dating.

He admitted in an interview that he did the show for the cash.

And dad Dean said of his 23-year-old daughters: “They wouldn’t go on a reality show to find love. It would never happen.

“They have been offered Love Island but they are private, which is nice.

“I think people who do go on a reality show to find love . . . is it genuine? Are they really going to find love or are they going for Instagram followers?”

Dean, who played Robbie Jackson in EastEnders, continued: “I went on Celebs Go Dating to have a good time. At the end of the day it’s a job and a job pays money.

“But I think it’s really hard because obviously we go on dates for two hours and the show only depicts two minutes of that.

“You’re on a date with ten cameras in your face, it’s not easy.” He added that after editing, the dates “don’t always show what actually happens”.
