MAURA Higgins paid tribute to her best friend who was killed in a bike crash four years ago.
The Love Island star’s pal Andrew Rowan, 26, died when his motorbike collided with three cars in Co Athlone, Ireland in 2017.
Yesterday Maura, 30, took to Instagram to honour her friend on what would have been his 30th birthday.
In one post she shared a black and white video of Andrew cuddled up to a cute dog, which was followed by another of the pair giggling away together as Christina Aguilera’s song Hurt played in the background.
The third was a selfie of the pair together during a night out.
Maura said: “Not a day passes when your not in my thoughts.
“I love you so much & miss you every single day.
“Happy birthday in heaven.”
The reality star previously opened up about how much Andrew’s death has affected her, and has even gone on to “blame herself” for what happened.
Maura admitted that she used to believe that Andrew might not have passed away if she decided to go out with him that evening.
She told the Mirror: “For so long, I used to think that if I had gone for dinner with him that day, when he had asked, he wouldn’t have been on that motorbike.
“My family kept saying to me, ‘Maura, you can’t think like this, it was going to happen’, but I just kicked myself for so long and got worked up about it for so long.”
Andrew, who was a popular digger driver, left behind parents Tom and Margaret and siblings Thomas and Susan.
Maura and sisters Becki and Louise have fond memories with Andrew as they grew up with him.
