THE Love Island villa is lavish and luxury to most people, but it’s highly unlikely new contestant Ollie Williams will be impressed.
The 23-year-old blonde comes from a very wealthy background and is used to living in a castle-like Victorian home in the Cornish countryside.
Listed on the National Trust website as “an unpretentious family home”, Lanhydrock Estate dates back to 1640 but most of the current building is the result of rebuilding after a fire in 1881.
The impressive estate includes a gatehouse, a tow-storey porch, and a 116-foot long gallery.
Fifty of the rooms are open to visitors and the National Trust has recreated the atmosphere of an Edwardian country house.
Fans of Downton Abbey will be familiar with the upstairs downstairs situation in such homes, and this still remains in Lanhydrock.
The house features lavish family rooms, as well as kitchens with state-of-the-art ovens and the servants’ quarters.
As well as this stunning home, Ollie’s family also own the picturesque Polzeath beach in Cornwall.
The private unlimited company that owns Lanhydrock is headed by Ollie’s dad Andrew, 52.
Its most recent financial records show company’s net worth at a cool 9.2million.
Used to the finer things in life, of course Ollie’s idea of a dream date is far more swish than your average pint at a local boozer.
“My ideal first date would be a restaurant in Cornwall on the coast where you can overlook the sunset and have a 12 course taster menu with wines,” said the contestant.
“Thats always a great first date. It could be awkward with 12 courses to go if you didnt like each other But its a beautiful date.”
It’s unsure whether or not Ollie will discuss his wealthy status while appearing on the ITV2 show, but the ladies are sure to be impressed if he does.
Speaking about his persona, he said: “Im an alpha male. Wherever I go, I boss the room, I boss whatever Im doing. Ill be the butt of all jokes but Ill also be the one to make all of the jokes.
“I’m attention seeking and I like to be the centre of what is going on at the time. I wear my emotions on my sleeve, Im upfront and let people know what I think of them too,” he added.
