LOVE Island stars Jonny Mitchell and Montana Brown have paid tribute to Mike Thalassitis on the one-year anniversary of his death.
The pair grew close to the reality star during their time on the reality show in 2017 and were left heartbroken when he took his own life in March of last year.
Taking to Instagram today, Montana shared a picture of Mike, who would have been 27 now, and wrote: “Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us everyday.”
Jonny posted a picture of them together and in a moving caption, shared: “Can’t believe a whole year’s gone by since you left us bro.
“Still find it difficult to comprehend you’re not with us anymore.
“You were too good for this world! Never forgotten Magic Mike.”
Fellow reality star Mario Falcone also paid his respects, writing: “1 year since we lost this gentleman. Hope you are having a blast up there bro.”
Luis Morrison expressed his upset as he posted a picture of himself with Mike and put: “1 year ago today since we lost you in our lives. There’s not a day that goes by I don’t think of you and I hope your resting in peace. I love you and will always miss you.”
Mike tragically took his own life last year – an inquest heard how Mike killed himself after a cocaine and booze binge and left suicide notes next to his body.
Mike was believed to have been grieving the death of his 94-year-old gran and faced mounting debts before his death.
According to Montana, Mike had been in a “dark place” in the months before he died.
With a career in lower league football, Mike joined the cast for Love Island in 2017. He was also filmed for Celebs Go Dating.
