LOVE Island 2020 returned to our screens for the first ever winter series this evening, with Laura Whitmore making her debut as host.

Tonight’s episode of the ITV2 show will introduce fans to the swanky new villa in sunny South Africa – as well as the first batch of Islanders.

Earlier today, it was confirmed that twins Eve and Jess Gale will make a late arrival – joining as the first bombshells of the series following the initial coupling ceremony.

The sisters were notably absent in preview pictures previously released by show bosses, and new snaps showed them strutting in hand-in-hand just hours later – much to the girls’ annoyance.

Millionaire toff Ollie Williams will also be officially introduced to fans – who have been furiously petitioning to get him booted from the show.

On Friday, The Sun Online revealed that the posh heir was a big game hunter, leaving viewers outraged.

Disgusted animal-lovers have been begging bosses to axe Ollie from the line-up, but defiant producers are said to be digging their heels in and have “no intention” of getting rid of the bloodthirsty contestant.

This is not the only controversy the new series of Love Island had faced before hitting our screens, with usual presenter Caroline Flack stepping down as host last month after she was arrested and charged for allegedly assaulting her boyfriend Lewis Burton.

Laura, who is the girlfriend of Love Island’s voiceover artist Iain Sterling, was drafted in as a last minute replacement, with Caroline sending luck to the Irish beauty earlier today.
