Love Island bosses confirm the show WILL return this summer for sixth consecutive series

THE Sun can reveal the ITV2 series will return in the summer for the sixth consecutive year.

Its future had been thrown into doubt following the death of original host Caroline Flack.

Paige Turley and Finn Tapp were crowned Love Island winners on Sunday night

A TV source said: Love Island was always contracted to run two series in 2020 and the plan remains the same. There have been lots of discussions behind the scenes triggered by recent tragic events but Love Island is committed to upcoming series.

Paige Turley and Finn Tapp were crowned Love Island winners.

Finn and Paige an ex of chart star Lewis Capaldi beat favourites Siannise Fudge and Luke Trotman.

Demi Jones and Luke Mabbott finished third. Paige, 22, also a singer, decided to share the 50,000 prize with recruitment consultant Finn, 20.

Paige said Finn had made her a better person, while Finn told Paige he loved her.
