Love Island bosses have blasted rumours that they told Jess Gale to pursue a romance with Mike Boateng in a bid to improve her chance of winning the show.

Jess, 20, is currently coupled up with Luke Mabbott but was last night seen kissing Mike three times.

But ITV bosses have denied telling her to pursue him

During a game of Snog, Marry, Pie, Jess chose to snog Mike and not Luke M – who wasn’t particularly chuffed with her decision. Mike had already picked Jess to snog.

Then later, during a private chat with Mike in the garden, she told him: “[Luke] thinks I should’ve kissed him, which is what I would’ve done if I felt that way.

“I kissed you because out of all the people in the villa, I’m most attracted to you.”

The pair then kissed again.

Reports had claimed she was told she would have a better chance of winning with Mike
But bosses insist Jess has made all her own decisions in the villa

Mike, 24, has been trying his best to woo Jess after his split from Leanne Amaning, who was dumped from the ITV2 show last week, but at first she didn’t respond.

Telly execs have now denied they persuaded Jess to suddenly ditch Luke and begin accepting Mike’s advances in an effort to boost her chances of winning – as Mike is staying in the headlines.

A Love Island spokesman told The Sun Online: “The opinions the Islanders have, decisions they make and the relationships formed are completely within the control of the Islanders themselves.”

Meanwhile, Jess’s decision to ‘pie off’ Luke M, 24, and share a passionate kiss with Mike has not gone down well with fans of the show.

Jess’s twin sister Eve, who also entered the villa but was the first to be dumped, has revealed her sibling has received terrifying death threats.

Writing on her Instagram stories on Sunday night, she said: “Although someone can appear to have themselves together you don’t know what they are going through behind closed doors.

“Abuse like this can destroy a person. THINK BEFORE YOU TYPE.

“And these are the same people who would post about mental health and write RIP posts if anyone in the limelight was to commit suicide.

“Honestly it’s disgusting. My sister has been sent 100s of death threats and abuse and it actually makes me sick. why are people so damn weird and nasty.”
