LOVE Island fans WILL be able to get their fix this summer, with the first explosive Australian series hitting ITV2 later this month.

ITV confirmed the exciting news on social media, with the 2018 episodes set to air every night at 9pm like usual.

Love Island Australia will fill the void this summer

Sharing a promotional video alongside the iconic theme tune, ITV2 wrote: “It’s the @LoveIsland you love, just with a different accent.

“Love Island: Australia. Every night from Monday 15th June on ITV2 and @ITVHub”.

Fans were thrilled by the news, with one tweeting: “YES, worth a try to fill the hole!”

Another wrote: “OMG YESSSS!!!!!! Buzzing!!!!!!!!!!!”

A third excitedly shared: “What a treat! I thought it had been cancelled!”

It was previously confirmed that the UK version of the show had been cancelled this summer due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic following the first ever winter series earlier this year.

However, the Aussie version is sure to be enough to keep fans entertained, with the series famed for its raunchy scenes – and even an explosive fight – when it first aired two years ago.

The series originally aired in 2018

There was a second series Down Under last year, with both previously broadcast in the UK on ITVBe.

ITV confirmed in a statement: “Starting later this month and airing nightly on ITV2, the Australian version of the UK’s favourite dating show is hosted by Sophie Monk and narrated by Eoghan McDermott.

“The series sees a bunch of sizzling Aussie singles embark on the ultimate summer of love, leaving the Australian winter behind them, as they take up residence in a luxury villa in Mallorca.

“Playing the definitive game of love, the Aussie Islanders will get to know each other in the hope of finding romance.

“But as new bombshells arrive on the Island, which couples will stand the test of time and make it all the way to the final, and have a chance of bagging the $50,000 cash prize?”
