FORMER Love Island star Dr Alex George has gone to work battling coronavirus on the frontline – with a topless picture of himself on HIS front.

The A&E doctor tried to make his patients smile during this traumatic time by wearing the flashback T-shirt – showing off his impressive pecs.

The 29-year-old starred in the Love Island villa in 2018 and is currently working in A&E at Lewisham Hospital.

Dressed head to toe in PPE medical gear, the good natured doctor looked ready to battle another day on the frontline – but with a little added help from his reality TV days.

He captioned the picture, hoping to put a smile on the faces of his patients and ease worry.

“So many patients are afraid especially with the PPE we wear and so I thought I would try and make them laugh or smile, even for a second.

“First patient, ‘I am actually not sure what’s scarier’. ??? Latest video showing you the resuscitation department as well as what happens to patients in intensive care, is now live on my YouTube ?? Link in bio.”

Fellow Love Islanders took to social media to praise him for his hard work – and admire his sculpted body.

Winter Love Island star Demi Jones commented: “Love this so much Alex”.

While 2019 winner Amber Gill congratulated him and said: “You are such a hero Alex. Well done!”.

And while he was unlucky in love during his TV debut, he’s since found love with dancer Amelia Bath.

The reality star recently admitted one of the hardest parts of his job was having to keep family away from their suffering loved ones fighting coronavirus.

Alex has been left emotionally drained by his gruelling shifts, admitting in an interview last week that he has experienced several coronavirus-related deaths in his London hospital.

He recently posted on social media that he was missing his other half during working on the frontline and it had been ‘three weeks and counting’ since seeing the brunette beauty.
