LOVE Island’s Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury were duped into thinking they were appearing on James Corden’s hit American chat show in a cruel prank.

The pair appeared via link from their Manchester home believing they were talking to the Gavin & Stacey star – but were actually being played old clips off him.

YouTube pranksters Josh Pieters and Archie Manners were behind the elaborate joke, posing as TV producers who told them they wouldn’t be able to see James because of technical issues.

The pair then played Tommy and Molly old clips of the Late Late Show host from previous shows, including the same recording of the host saying “Oh woooow” which was played again and again.

The first question seemed to catch them by surprise with ‘James’ saying: “I don’t know if people know this – you two are a couple. You’re dating.”

Seeming surprised that the fact might have escaped anyone, Tommy replied: “You could call it dating if you want. We might be a little bit past that, but OK.”

Questions were nabbed from old interviews the star has done from his US home

The pair continued with their questions punctuating it regularly with the same clips of James giggling.

Another recording of James heard him saying: “Now in the UK everybody knows what you do. Try to explain to these folks if you can a little what it is you actually do?”

Tommy replied that he was a “professional boxer” and Molly a “full-time influencer” as they explained the story of their Love Island romance.

The fake host then asked who they would want to play them in a movie, with Tommy saying Leonardo DiCaprio while Molly-Mae chose Margot Robbie.

The clip ended with the pair seemingly none the wiser that they had been tricked – and that, contrary to what they had been told, would not be appearing on The Late Late Show.

Nonetheless it delighted YouTube fans, with one laughing: “The ‘Oh wooow’ sounds so fake that I die every time it comes up.”

Another wrote: “I kinda feel like some of these guys are having their doubts but don’t wanna risk it actually being James Corden.”
