MOLLY-MAE Hague has confirmed she had met Maura Higgins before they entered the Love Island villa joking about how the “world is a very small place”.

“No word of a lie when I say @maurahiggins was sat at the table opposite me when this pic was taken in Dubai,” shared Molly, alongside a picture of her in a restaurant on holiday.

“Remember it so clearly seeing her and thinking who is that unreal girl, little did we know…” she wrote alongside three laughing emojis.

“When she came into the villa it took me two days to realise why I recognised her so much.”

“The world is a very small place…” she posted at the top of the picture.

The pair met in the 2019 villa and fans had previously suggested their inclusion was a fix after it was discovered that they had holidayed at the same time in Dubai.

The women are rumoured to have been friends before the show

They were both involved in an awkward love triangle with Tommy Fury in the first few weeks but they went on to become fast friends and fans though at the time that the turnaround was suspect.

An eyewitness who was at Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen Dubai restaurant in March 2019 went on to claim to have seen the two girls dining together.

The source revealed: “They were sitting there, all dressed up and having dinner together.

“They looked like really good mates, not like they had just met each other. The managers and waiters couldn’t take their eyes off them, they were just saying they were beyond-level fit.”

The influencer had visited Dubai several times

Molly later clarified the rumours, telling Mirror Online: “I thought that was hilarious. Me and Maura were in Dubai at the same time, we didn’t know each other, we never met.

“But literally we were in the same restaurant at the same time and we never even knew.

“I said to her when she came into the villa, ‘I really recognise you’, and it was the biggest coincidence ever.”

The 20-year-old added: “When I was in the villa, I was saying, ‘I wonder if they’ll pick up on that’, because there were posts of me in Dubai.”
