LAURA Whitmore has shared her excitement at getting her visa ahead of a flight to South Africa and the first winter series of Love Island.

The show’s new presenter, 34, revealed her visa had been approved and she would be heading off in the next few days to oversee new Islanders.

Laura danced in the car and sang along to Can’t Stop the Feeling! by Justin Timberlake for the Instagram story, using a heart filter.

The DJ and presenter is dating Iain Stirling, the voiceover man for the show, and was one of the favourites to replace Caroline when news of her arrest came to light.

Caroline, 39, has hosted the show since 2015 but was forced to take a leave of absence after being accused of attacking 27-year-old Lewis.

Cops swooped on the Love Island presenter’s pad in North London where the couple live together following reports of a man being assaulted.

Several officers and police vehicles were pictured outside the ITV2 star’s home following the early-morning row and there were also images of blood on their door.

She has pleaded not guilty and been placed on conditional bail, before facing a trial in March.

“Lewis is the one who called the police but it doesn’t matter, they still want to stay together,” a source later claimed.

“They both love each other very much and they’re desperate to make it work. They’re still boyfriend and girlfriend.”

Her leave of absence from the show comes, howvever, amid reports that the Cape Town-based new villa will be patrolled by armed guards amid fears its stars could be kidnapped, according to reports.

Cape Town is the world’s 11th deadliest city according to its murder rate; Cape Town last year saw 69 murders for every 100,000 people according to a government body, the South African Cities Network.

A show insider told the Star: “Producers arent taking any chances. Its been arranged for armed guards to patrol the compound throughout the series.

They will have them surrounding the area so there is no chance of any breaches.”

The source added: If its known to everyone in the area that a big TV show is in town, then it will become a target. There are concerns there could be kidnap attempts if things arent done carefully.

An ITV spokesperson told The Sun Online: “The safety and security of our Islanders and crew are of the utmost importance.”

Love Island’s winter edition will return on Sunday 12 December.
