Ollie walked from the series last week after realising he was still in love with his ex Laura Nofer

The pictures of Ollie posing beside a dead warthog, water buffalo and giant eland sparked almost 500 Ofcom complaints from viewers.

He said: I can see why people reacted to those pictures in the way they did the photos are offensive, all people can see is a dead animal and me smiling and I apologise for the offensive nature of them.

I was given an opportunity to go out and work in a conservation and anti-poaching unit in Mozambique.

One of the days one of the guys turned round to me and told me that another side to poaching is the sustainable hunting side and invited me to observe.

I knew the negativity were about these pictures, because taken out of context they look bad. Im not a trophy hunter and I dont take gratification out of killing animals.

But I realised I was going to look like an absolute knob in the public eye. The guy posing with the gun asked me to pose with him over dead animals. I could never pose with an endangered animal.

Sustainable hunting is conservation all the money made goes back into protecting the wildlife.

Ollies family have billed ITV for the security they have been forced to hire at their home in Cornwall

These animals need to be controlled and culled in the area you can either pay someone to do it or make money out of tourism.

Much of the funds go back into healthcare and schools. All the meat is given to the locals meaning they dont need to farm.

He added: The ealand is a vulnerable/threatened animal within Africa in the place I was in there was too many of them.

Ollie Williams has also said ITV ‘character assassinated’ him on the show

He said: My family have had physical death threats we had a voicemail from a man saying he was going to kill me. It was scary.

It was really serious police were involved extensively in Cornwall and thats why we had to get security.”

Ollie has also accused ITV of deliberately making him look bad in order to ensure he was voted off first.

He said: Looking at the stories coming out about me and all the complaints ITV were getting I think they portrayed me as a grumpy snob on purpose I think I would have been the first person voted off.

Ollie says he was portrayed as ‘this grumpy, moody bloke’ so he’d be the first person voted off

When I came out and saw the way that I was portrayed this grumpy, moody bloke I was so shocked as that wasnt who I was.

I was having an absolute ball the whole time. It was a complete misrepresentation of who I was in there. From watching it my parents were worried that I was depressed.

The viscount-in-waiting, heir to the 2,000-acre Lanhydrock estate in Cornwall, revealed that he was fed lines to say in his introduction video and villified in challenges.

He said: I was absolutely vilified in one game where it was claimed I cheated on an ex nine times.

I just thought This is ridiculous as I was coming across as a bell end. I dont know where they got that from, its not true.

I thought if they could do that, what else could they be doing behind my back. I started to feel a bit paranoid at that point.

When I saw my introductory VT I said, that is not me they actually made me say, Im the heir to the Lanhydrock Estate I would never introduce myself as that.

They treat you like a rock star and it was a fun day. But they completely character assassinated me from day dot.

He added: My warning to other contestants is that you risk your personality being portrayed as they like.

Since leaving the villa Ollie has rekindled his romance with his ex-girlfriend Laura Nofer, 23.

He said: She is the girl I want to marry and we plan on moving in together soon in London.
