NETFLIX is launching three new dating shows in July to fill the Love-Island shaped hole in viewers’ lives.
Couples get their dream wedding in Say I Do, while Indian Matchmaking follows an expert’s matchmaking efforts and Love On The Spectrum explores the world of dating for young adults with autism.
The upcoming additions to the streaming service come after Love Island’s summer edition was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Say I Do follows a trio of experts as they bring to life the weddings for couples who, for whatever reason, haven’t been able to make their big day a reality.
Eight couples will get professional help planning their proposals as well as their nuptials.
The unscripted series, which was helmed by the creators of Queer Eye, is launching on Netflix on July 1.
Indian Matchmaking, meanwhile, revolves around matchmaker Seema Taparia’s efforts to find partners for single millennial.
Seema, who is based in India, helps singletons from Houston to Mumbai go on first dates – often bringing their family along too.
The eight-part season one drops on Netflix on July 16.
Love On The Spectrum initially aired on ABC Australia last November and follows young adults on the autism spectrum exploring the world of dating.
The series is being labelled as a Netflix original everywhere outside of Australia and its five hour-long episodes debut on July 22.
Love Island 2020 was cancelled back in May over the pandemic, after bosses admitted they couldn’t guarantee the safety of the contestants.
Bosses had looked at a number of ways they could try and continue with filming, including testing the contestants for coronavirus and moving the dates to later in the year.
Plans for a winter series in January 2021 have also been axed amid uncertainty over the pandemic.
Instead, sources said they are planning to show an extended version for the summer series a year from now.
