ALDI has launched a new spread which shoppers say tastes just like Biscoff’s famous treat.

The spread, which is on sale for £1.69 for a 400g jar, comes in either smooth or crunchy textures, meaning there’s something for everyone.

Aldi has brought out its own range of biscuit spread, which shoppers say tastes just like Lotus’ famous Biscoff spread

It’s 59p cheaper than Lotus Biscoff’s original spread, which is on sale at Tesco and Asda for £2.28 and £2.30 at Sainsbury’s for a 400g jar.

Biscoff also sells crunchy and smooth versions, but the crunchy version is harder to get hold of.

Per 15g serving, Lotus’ Biscoff spread has 88 calories and 5.5g of sugar.

We’ve asked Aldi how much sugar and calories is in a typical serving of its spread and will update this article when we hear back.

Biscoff’s original spread is popular with fans because of its buttery, caramel taste, meaning it can be used on everything.

From toast and cakes to a topper for biscuits and in sandwiches, it goes down a treat with its fans.

The new spread was spotted by a shopper, who posted about it in the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group.

She said: “Aldi’s own version of Biscoff Spread” with several heart eye emojis.

Her post proved popular with other members of the group as more than 1,000 people like and more than 1,000 others commented on it.

One poster said: “They’ve got this in Aldi, tastes exactly same as Biscoff and good for cheesecakes.”

Another, who tagged a friend, said: “Next time you go to Aldi, if they have this, grab it for me please!”

One added that she tried to get it in her local store, but it had already been snapped up by other shoppers.

“I went yesterday but couldn’t see it,” she wrote on the page.

Aldi’s kept the launch of the new spread quiet as it’s not featured online as part of its spread and jams range.

Fans of the spread will have to head to their local store to buy it though as Aldi doesn’t offer online shopping currently.

We couldn’t find any other versions similar to Aldi’s spread at other retailers, so if you’re keen to buy it, you should head down to your nearest Aldi store.

Aldi’s not the only store to have launched new spreads recently.

Lindt has launched two new chocolate spreads – and you can buy one of them now at Asda.

Earlier this year, B&M slashed the price of Biscoff and Go pots to just 59p each.

And Asda is now selling Lotus Biscoff ice cream with brownie pieces.
