B&M is selling GIANT tubs of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream that are almost 10 times bigger than the ones you get at the supermarket – and they only cost £5.

The tubs come in peanut butter cup flavour and contain a huge 4.5litres of ice cream.

The tubs cost £5 – £1.50 more than they did last time

That’s £1.50 more expensive than when the discounter last stocked them but you’ll still be saving a fortune compared to the supermarket tubs.

A 465ml tub of peanut butter cup Ben & Jerry’s will typically set you back £4.50, which works out at around £43.50 for the same amount of ice cream in the tubs from B&M. That’s a saving of £38.50.

Usually, the tubs would be stocked in places such as restaurants, cinemas and theme parks, but due to coronavirus closures and restrictions businesses haven’t need to stock up so much.

Instead, some of the industrial size food products have been snapped up by supermarkets and high street retailers.

The giant tubs are only available in the one peanut butter flavour and contain around 330 calories per 100ml.

The cooling treats are available to buy from B&M stores that sell frozen foods – you can find your nearest one using the locator tool.

They’re also available to buy at Heron Foods, which is owned by B&M – you can find your nearest branch here.

Neither B&M or Heron Foods offer an online delivery service so you will have to visit a branch.

The ice cream won’t be a regular addition to shelves to you might not want to hang around as they’re unlikely to be restocked once they’ve been snapped up.

Remember though, the tubs are nearly 10 times bigger than normal so make sure you have the freezer space at home before snapping them up.

Other industrial sized products have also been spotted in supermarkets following the closure of restaurants and pubs during lockdown.

In May, Sainsbury’s was stocking massive 16kg bags of flour that would normally have been bought by the catering industry.

Ben & Jerry’s marks the ending of its flavour in the strangest way – by “burying” them in a garden outside its factory.
