CADBURY is chopping the size of a range of favourite chocolate bars.

But the price of Wispa Gold, Double Decker and Boosts will stay the same.

Double Decker bars that come in multipacks are about to get smaller
Multipack Boost bars will also shrink to bring them under the 200 calorie threshold

Multipack bars, also including Twirl and Flake, are being resized so they each contain less than 200 calories.

Single bars are not affected in the move, to be introduced by the end of next year.

Wispa Gold bars in a £1 four-pack currently weigh 40g and contain 206 calories.

Each will have to shrink by around 1.6g to lose six calories. Single bars are 48g.

Double Deckers are to shed 15 calories, taking a 47g bar down to 43.7g or below.

US firm Mondelez, which owns Cadbury, said: “We must play our part in tackling obesity.”

But one choc fan tweeted: “It seems painfully obvious it’s for profit margins.”
