IF your birthday was during lockdown, you might be feeling like you missed out a little.
So I searched high and low for a treat or two just for you.
Here is where you can bag a fabulous birthday freebie . . .
DELICIOUS DOUGHNUTS: By signing up to Krispy Kreme Rewards you will be sent a free original glazed doughnut voucher on your birthday as one of the perks. It usually costs £1.65.
However, if you are already a member and celebrated your birthday in lockdown up until August 31, you would have been given 150 points in your rewards account, which is enough to claim a free doughnut.
If your birthday is from September 1 onwards, you will be sent your free doughnut voucher on the first day of the month you were born.
SWEET TREAT: One of the perks of signing up to the Greggs loyalty scheme is that you get a free sweet-treat voucher up to the value of £1 to spend.
However, if your birthday is between March 24 and July 3, you wouldn’t have been able to redeem your voucher, as its stores were closed.
To make it up to you, Greggs has extended these vouchers to last until the very end of 2020, so you still have plenty of time to pick up your doughnut, yum-yum or cookie.
MEAL DEALS: Sign up to the Shepherd Neame Birthday Club scheme and you can get a free birthday meal at selected locations.
All you have to do is purchase at least one other main meal to claim your free pub grub.
GRIN AND BEAR IT: Is your child a big Build-A-Bear fan? If you are already a member of its Bonus Club, you can take advantage of the Count Your Candles scheme which means you will only pay the equivalent of your child’s age for their new furry friend.
For example, if your child turns five, you will pay £5 rather than the typical £14.
However, if you didn’t manage to claim your bear due to lockdown, they have given you until September 30 to head into the store and claim what is yours.
GET FIZZY: Now this is something to cheer for. If you create an account with Pizza Express, you will be treated to a free bottle of prosecco when you purchase two main meals.
Plus, if you were a member prior to lockdown and celebrated your birthday between March and August, you can still claim your free bubbly — so keep an eye on your inbox to find out how, as they will be emailing members soon.
COCKTAIL O’CLOCK: TGI Fridays has a fantastic selection of cocktails and you can get up to 12 of them for free as a birthday gift.
Simply sign up to its rewards app and the voucher will appear in your account one week before your birthday.
You will be able to get one free cocktail or mocktail for every main meal purchased up to 12.
Do pay attention to the expiry date on the voucher, as it doesn’t last long.
