GARDEN: Keep your lawn trim with the Mac Allister compact cordless lawnmower from B&Q. It has slashed the price from £78 to just £25. That’s a bargain.

Plus, keep the kids entertained with a green wired pedal go-kart, now £40, down from £60 in the outdoor sale online at direct.asda.com. I wish it did an adult version.

CLOTHING: Kit out the whole family with the help of the summer sale at Matalan, featuring savings of up to 50 per cent. I like the pink bandeau playsuit, now £4, down from £8. It’s perfect for in the garden or a trip to the beach.

You should also check out the clearance sale at johnlewis.com, where you can get up to 50 per cent off activewear and as much as 70 per cent off dresses and menswear.

I like the All Saints Mode merino short-sleeve polo shirt, now £27.20, down from £68. It’s super-lightweight so great for all occasions.

TECH: You can make some big savings at currys.co.uk in its biggest ever clearance sale.

I’ve got my eye on the Nespresso by Krups Essenza mini coffee machine, reduced to £49.99, down from £89.99.

That will make your morning coffee taste so much better. And the 32in Toshiba 32WL2A63DB smart TV is a steal at £159, down from £199.99.

HOMEWARE: Refresh your home with the help of the homeware sale at debenhams.co.uk. There are savings of up to 70 per cent to be had on items including a stylish black wire round clock for £17.50, down from £25. Head over to argos.co.uk for further deals.
