HAVE you gone ‘dry’ this month?

2021 may be off to a slightly different start but many of us are still trying to stick to our resolutions.

Go dry this January and toast the savings with these healthier, alcohol-free tipples

Last January saw an estimated 4.2 million Brits give up booze for the month and, with reports suggesting that five weeks’ abstinence saves around £218, this can be a big saving.

But whether you’re trying to save dosh or just be healthier, these alcohol-free tipples will save you even more — as they come without a hangover . . .

Nab Nosecco: I love some fizz, and if you need to raise a glass of bubbly to anything in the next few weeks, you may feel a bit left out.

Thankfully, the supermarkets are chock-full of great alcohol-free swaps that don’t break the bank and taste pretty good.

The Freixenet 0.0% Alcohol-Free Sparkling Wine is currently down from £5 to £4 at Tesco.

Or nab my favourite Nosecco, now £2.75, down from £3.50, at Asda and save even more.

Knock up a home-made mocktail that will taste just as good

Wine wouldn’t you?: What’s better than a glass of red at the end of a long day?

But if you’re dry, instead of picking up a bottle of Casillero Del Diablo Malbec, £7.50 at Sainsbury’s, pick up a bottle of their own alcohol-free red wine for just £2.75.

Plus, for rosé lovers, there’s a tasty blush version available too.

Gins all round: If you love a G&T and miss the taste, you’ll be pleased to know that if you pay a visit to Holland and Barrett you can snap up a 70cl bottle of Seedlip Non-Alcoholic Spirit Garden for £12.99, down from £25.99. It’s delicious paired with ice, a slice of cucumber and your favourite tonic water.

SAVE: £13

Mojito mocktail: Don’t miss out on your favourite cocktail — knock up a home-made mocktail that will taste just as good.

For a mojito, all you need is a tablespoon of sugar, a small bunch of mint (75p for a pack at Sainsbury’s), the juice of three limes (75p for three limes at Asda) and soda water (50p for a litre bottle at Tesco).

You’ll make plenty with these ingredients and save a lot of dosh, as the price of a cocktail normally starts at £7.
