KEEPING little ones entertained for six weeks during the school holidays can be exhausting and expensive.
But with several toy retailers kicking off their summer sales this week, it need not cost the earth.

FUN IN THE SUN: When the weather is nice, get your kids in the garden.

INTERACTIVE FUN: I’m a big fan of Rizmo. The interactive animal toy was super-popular over Christmas but now you can bag it for £15 at Argos, down from £55.

It can take underwater photos and also be attached to kids’ bikes so they can record their day’s journey and apply special effects later.
PIECE IT TOGETHER: Lockdown saw many of us getting hooked on jigsaw puzzles, and it may have become a new family hobby.
Head to debenhams.co.uk to find some steals. The pack of four Disney Frozen II bumper jigsaw puzzles for £5.40, down from £18, are perfect.
WET ‘N’ WILD: A Nerf Super Soaker will set you back £17 at Argos, but you can create your own easily enough with an empty ketchup bottle. Just clean it out and fill up with water.
The kids will have hours of fun and it will cost you absolutely nothing. But there’s no guarantee they won’t soak you, so be warned.
