KOPPARBERG is launching its first ever rum product – and it tastes of spiced cherry.

The new dark red drink has been infused with a “bold” cherry flavour and is sure to please those who like their tipple with a fruity kick.

Kopparberg is releasing its spiced cherry rum as a neat spirit and ready mixed can with cola

As well as bottles of neat spirit, Kopparberg will also be selling cans of ready mixed spiced cherry rum and cola.

The bottle of spiced cherry rum has an alcohol by volume (ABV) content of 37.5 per cent, while each can has an ABV of five per cent.

Both products will be available to buy from select Asda stores and online from this Monday, June 22, 2020.

To avoid disappointment, use the Asda store locator to find contact details for your nearest store so you can check their stock levels before making the journey.

Shoppers will be able to pick up a 70cl bottle of Kopparberg spiced cherry rum for a promotional price of £18 when it launches, although its usual price will be £20.

The 250ml cans will have a launch price of £5 for a pack of four – the RRP is £6 for a four-pack.

Both products, which are also vegan-friendly and gluten-free, will only be available to buy from Asda, meaning you won’t find them in other supermarkets.

If you decide to go for the neat spirit, Kopparberg suggests mixing 50ml of its spiced cherry rum over ice in a tall glass, with cola mixer of choice, and a lime wedge to garnish.

For those watching their weight during lockdown, you’ll want to know that 100ml of Kopparberg spiced rum contains 207 calories and zero grams of sugar.

In the UK, the average man shouldn’t consume more than 2,500 calories, while it’s 2,000 for women.

Kopparberg is usually known for its fruity range of ciders – in fact, it added a cherry flavour to its cider range back in January this year.

The Swedish company also has a selection of gins, with flavours including pink mixed fruits and passion fruit and orange, but this is the first time it has launched a rum drink.

There are other cherry rums currently on the market, but the new release from Kopparberg is the cheapest we could find when we searched this morning.

For example, Master of Malt sell a 70cl bottle of Admiral Vernon’s Old J cherry spiced rum – but this costs £20.95 plus £2.95 for delivery.

As always, please remember to drink responsibly and be DrinkAware.

Kopparberg’s cider range includes strawberry and lime, mixed fruits, pear, blueberry and lime and sweet apple, to name a few.

The Swedish company has also released a new Hard Seltzer range and they’re perfect for summer.

Kopparberg also does a rosé cider, which you can buy in Tesco and Asda.
