A HEARTY brekkie always hits the spot on a Sunday morning.

And you don’t need to go out to enjoy a high-octane brunch. Whip up these tasty treats in next to no time . . .

Enjoy these quick and cheap brunch recipes to make everyday feel like a Sunday morning

TikTok trending: I tried out a great new TikTok foodie trend for the ultimate breakfast bap. Decide if you want bacon as well as sausage, cook your meat and pop to one side. Beat a couple of eggs and pour into a frying pan. Place two pieces of bread in the egg to cover both sides.

When they are cooked on one side, flip over the bread. Then top with cheese, your meat and combine. For bargain bangers, 12 Richmond thick pork sausages are currently £1.50 at Morrisons, down from £2.

Flippin’ good: Pancakes are a simple treat and you can jazz them up with what is already in your fridge or cupboards. Make six pancakes with 100g plain flour, two eggs and 300ml milk.

Once cooked, top with syrup, chocolate sauce or, for a healthier option, banana or raspberries. Or you could even fry up some bacon . . .

It costs McNuffin: Forget the drive-thru. Make a home McMuffin with eggs, bacon, muffins (obviously), cheese, butter and oil. Fry your bacon until crisp, then start on the eggs. Toast your muffins then load them up.

Make a home McMuffin with eggs, bacon, cheese, butter and oil

Pop in a slice of cheese, followed by your egg, topped with crispy bacon. What a yummy treat. Given a bacon and egg McMuffin costs around £2.69 at McDonald’s, you can whip up plenty of these at home for similar money.

Nice ’n’ smooth: Breakfast smoothies are a great way to kickstart your day. Pop a banana in the blender with 1 tbsp porridge oats, 80g strawberries or fruit of your choice, 150ml milk and 1 tspn honey. Blitz until smooth, then enjoy.

This is a great on-the-go option and far cheaper than buying on a bottle, such as Innocent’s Up & Oat Super Smoothie, 750ml, £4 at Tesco.
