To claim the discounted snack, you’ll need to download the free McDonald’s app if you haven’t already.

The bargain burger is available to new and existing app users – although if you’re new you’ll need to register an account.

Users should then head to the “Deals” section and tap the offer to add it to their bag and then place the order and pay for it through the app.

You will then need to collect your order from your chosen restaurant.

Unfortunately, the offer isn’t available on drive-thru or delivery orders – you’ll need to pay full price for these services.

The deal will be available on the app from 11am today and can only be used once by each customer.

Plus, if you want to upgrade to a meal you’ll need to pay full price.

A McChicken sandwich meal will set you back £4.69 for a medium meal or £5.09 for a large, according to Burgerlad.com.

Of course, it’s worth bearing in mind that many McDonald’s branches are franchised meaning they can set their own prices, so costs may vary by branch.

The majority of Maccies branches are also closed to diners in line with current government coronavirus measures.

Those in Tiers 3 and 4 areas are only allowed to stay open for takeaway and delivery services.

You can find out how local restrictions affect your local restaurants and its opening times using the branch locator tool.

The Big Tasty is back at McDonald’s too but only for a limited time.

The fast food chain has also launched Katsu McChicken nuggets – but some people were disappointed it didn’t come with a Katsu curry dip.

KFC is bringing back its 20 hot wings bucket for £5.99 deal from today – and it’s available until January 31.
