POT Noodle is going potless for the first time in the snack’s 40-year history.

The new product can be added into a jug or a big cup before adding boiling water, in the same way you make a normal Pot Noodle.

Pot Noodle has now launched a new range – without the infamous pot

It can also be made in a saucepan on the stove.

There are three flavours for the products which are Roast Chicken, Curry and Sweet Chilli.

Pot Noodle said the idea behind it is to try and make the snacks greener by saving on the hard plastic used in the pots, which is harder to recycle.

It also makes the student favourite even cheaper.

The Pot Noodle “Lost The Pot” range is available from Asda with an RRP of 80p and 50p when on promotion.

Normally, pots are £1 and 60p when on offer.

The firm is not ditching pots – but selling them side by side for now to gauge if fans like the new cheaper option.

An insider said: “It’s not as convenient as just pouring boiling water from a kettle into the pot, and you have to do some washing up. But it’s better for the environment – and cheaper.”

Lena Portchmouth, marketing manager at Pot Noodle, said: “You may think we have lost the plot with the launch of our latest pot-less format.

“Whether you’re needing to fill hungry tummies, or are a student looking to save time and money, Lost The Pot Noodle is the perfect solution for those after a speedy and filling fix, so you can noodle in no time.”

Pot Noodle isn’t the only brand that’s launched a new product recently.

Kopparberg is launching a new spiced cherry rum.

Ben and Jerry’s has a new ice cream flavour, which has crisps in it.

And Morrisons has launched £30 ‘fakeaway’ boxes so you can recreate versions of Nandos and Wagamama food at home.
