PREMIER INN owner Whitbread has announced plans to cut up to 6,000 jobs following the coronavirus crisis.
It comes as the hospitality and travel industries continue to be hit by the pandemic, with fewer people booking hotel breaks.
The company, which also owns Brewers Fayre, said the potential job cuts represent 18% of its total workforce.
Whitbread expects a significant proportion of the layoffs to be voluntary.
The announcement comes as Whitbread says it expects demand to remain at lower levels following the coronavirus crisis.
